Nigeria is safer than South Africa

By | October 3, 2007

According to Warren Trokis, a manager at Shoprite, a South African grocery chain in Lagos, Nigeria: “Business is good here, and Nigeria is safer than South Africa. In South Africa armed robbers will take your money and kill you, but here in Nigeria, they will take your money and apologize.” (Source: “South African Invasion“, FORTUNE magazine, 1 October 2007)

Well, I guess everything is relative. Just like Singapore is more democratic than Burma because the Singapore government doesn’t kill its dissidents, it jails them instead.
