30 years of spam, and counting

By | May 8, 2008

Believe it or not, spam has been around for 30 years, and two years past the deadline Bill Gates set on eradicating its existence.

More surprisingly, a recent survey conducted by Sophos revealed that 11% of people admit to having bought goods in response to spam messages.

Well, if nobody responded to spam, the tactic would not be commercially viable. But we just have to accept that some people are so stupid that they either don’t care or don’t realise that responding to spam makes the problem worse.
